Wow things I can do when I am desperate

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

I went to sleep at 12.30am with 70 pages of Rhetoric reading unread and a class at 9 am for which those readings are for. Yeah 70 not much but I read slowly and don’t really rush it.
I don’t know why I woke up at 5 am (5 am!) even though I set my alarm [...]

I am so screwed up

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

I thought the old Ern Sheong who was hot-tempered was dead.
Today I learnt that I am the same old same old.
I am having a very bad chesty cough now, and I have been sleeping as early as 11.30 pm and getting up at around 6.30 am to do my work. And my roommate comes and [...]

First Day

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

What I went through on my first day of Spring semester made me drop a class that very night.
Intensely crazy.
So it’s now down to four classes, minus Psychology 1.
Which is still pretty intense, but MUCH more managable I guess.
I was taught today in my first Rhetoric class that the way our English teachers taught us [...]

The following is the testimony of an ex-Mediacorp actress in Singapore. I found it pretty interesting how God reaches out to people.
Jacelyn Tay’s Testimony
The download link of the file is above. Too lazy to convert to image files.
Good night and have a good read.

Be very afraid

“Do not trust strangers,” my mum told me over the phone before I flew to the east coast.
Two days ago, my mum told me that her bank statement came and her supplement credit card (which is with me in the US) was charged an enormous amount of of US 2500.
This credit card was charged at [...]

News: “Son of Hamas Leader Turns Back on Islam and Embraces Christianity”

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

This came over by email. From Fox News:
“Mosab Hassan Yousef is an extraordinary young man with an extraordinary story. He was born the son of one of the most influential leaders of the militant Hamas organization in the West Bank and grew up in a strict Islamic family.
Now, at 30 years old, he attends an evangelical [...]

My personality code

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

The following conversations were commonly held among the brothers and leaders at my church:
“He is definitely a T.”
“No, he cannot be an E, he should be an I because…”
“You are so J.” (upon seeing me arrange my books at the corner of the table according to size, big at the bottom, small at the top.)
Hearing [...]

Some 2009 resolutions for my next semester at Cal

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Early to bed, early to rise. In bed by 1 perhaps? Or 12.30? Sounds hard :P But I want to be up and alert before I start the day, instead of dragging myself around the entire day.
Not be late for my 8 am classes, or whatever first class of the day. (Had 8 am lectures [...]

2008 was the year when…

Monday, January 5th, 2009

I fell in love.
I matured much much more regarding relationships, and am committed to wait upon the Lord and leave it all to Him.
I worked as a salesman in Giant Kelana Jaya selling some wireless broadband.
I left my RM1000 hand-phone in a taxi.
I bought my RM600 hand-phone (which I am still using in the US) [...]

Was it meant to be this way?

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

It has been a good holiday. I really felt that I had escaped from all the hustle and bustle of school life, these two weeks that I was here traveling in the East Coast, visiting places, seeing new things.
Someone whom I really cared about was recently called to be with the Lord, and I accepted [...]
